Erica + Eric’s Wedding in Louisville, Kentucky | Local and Destination Wedding Photographer Rebecca Beatty
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. you cup with never be empty for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way in the darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.
These two together, are a match that only Plato would dream of writing about. The same two that told Erica’s dad that they broke their photographer lol.
On September 5th, I sprained my ankle during Erica + Eric’s sweetheart session and the three days between their sweetheart session and their wedding, I tried everything in the world to heal my ankle quicker. But, even with all the epsom salt in the world, it wasn’t going to heal over night.
Before I tell you about how amazing this wedding was, I want to give a huge thank you to Mikell + Paul of Wellsbrook Studio! This husband and wife team saved my day when I shot this wedding. I could give them directions or ask for certain shots and they were on it and took the shots the way I would have taken them. And when I was finally at my limit and couldn’t take much more, Mikell made me sit down and they took control. And for that I’m so grateful. The pictures they took turned our better than I could have asked for.
But! Back to Erica + Eric!!
This wedding was so unique in so many ways. Probably one or my favorite and most memorable moments of 2018 was when Eric and all the other gentlemen got ready at Beards and Beer, A local barbershop that took the old school ways of shaving and added a modern twist to it.
Plus their two adorable puppy dog mascots is a bonus point for me lol.
It w as so amazing to see the steps the team took to make sure that each man got the perfect shave and the perfect haircut. And while the guys were chilling and relaxing (admit it you started singing Fresh Prince didn’t you) the ladies were having a party themselves as they got ready at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel in downtown Louisville.
And just real quick, these details!! I am OBSESSED!! Erica + Eric entire wedding was a unique theme. A vintage 1920’s purse from Germany, a top hat and cane, and so many more small details that added to the day. It was almost like a circus themed movie that Tim Burton wrote. Moons, dark flowers, and let’s not forget their ceremony and reception took place in the Palace Theater.
Speaking of the Palace Theater, it’s magnificant! It went so well with Erica + Eric’s vision for their big day and it had so many beautiful details! From the ceiling, the bar, even to the grand master staircase, this place was made for these two.
But overall, this wedding was one of the best weddings I have ever been a part of (sore foot or not). The details, the venues, the sudden outfit change that both Erica + Eric had as they had their first dance to one of my favorite songs, and of course, the love between these two PLUS seeing the love between their parents, it shoes you what true love is all about. I can’t thank these two enough for letting Mikell, Paul, and myself for capturing their wedding and just being a part of such a unique experience!
